People are leaving the village and going to safer places. So far, crops of more than 6000 bighas of paddy, millet etc. have been destroyed by submerging in water in these villages. The problem of even fodder for the animals has also arisen. The contact of these villages with each other has also been cut off. People are going to each other’s place only through boat.

Officers and employees reached by boat and appealed to the villagers to go to safe places, besides providing them food items and dry ration, kits etc. However, the fierce form of Yamuna decreased on Sunday. The water has come down slightly below the danger mark. There is a possibility that there will be relief in the next few days as the water level returns to normal. But according to the Meteorological Department, there are chances of rain for the whole next week. If it rains, the situation could get worse.

Yamuna river originates from Maharajgarh, Untasani, Pakhodna and Sherpur villages etc. in Khair tehsil. Every year the water coming here in Yamuna wreaks havoc. Six days back, the water level suddenly started rising here. The flood water has reached the populated area through the fields of many nearby villages. Houses built at low-lying places have also been submerged. The problem of fodder etc. is being created for the animals. Flood outposts have been set up in these areas by the administration. Lekhpal, secretary, veterinary doctor and medical superintendent have been posted. Relief material is also being distributed. ADM Finance and Revenue Meenu Rana said that the flood situation in the district is under control. The water level of Yamuna has decreased a bit on Sunday. Along with Yamuna, the water level of Ganga is being monitored.
